Penalties assessed to Jimmie Johnson's crew chief for failing the opening day inspection at the Daytona 500 were upheld Tuesday by an appeals panel. After hearing testimony from Hendrick Motorsports and NASCAR, a three-member committee voted unanimously for the sanctions.
