This suggestion has nothing to do with the team's talent or the fact that the Gaels won both the regular season and tournament titles in the WCC, although those are fine reasons to back the California school. No, this has everything to do with those fantastic championship belt t-shirts the entire team wore during the selection show. St. Mary's was given a No. 7 seed in the tournament and will face Purdue in a first-round game on Friday. The Boilermakers couldn't have been happy to draw the only team in the field of 68 with their own screened-on title belts. That's like playing five-on-six. The only negative from the whole experience: Nobody did the discount double-check when CBS cut in for a reaction shot. Consider it a missed opportunity, gentlemen. Don't let it happen again.
