In The Pits: Silly Season not so silly anymore (The Associated Press)

FILE-This Feb. 28, 2012 file photo shows car owner Jack Roush, left, celebrating with Matt Kenseth in victory lane after he won the NASCAR Daytona 500 auto race at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Fla. Kenseth and Denny Hamlin pulled out of NASCAR's free agent pool last week. What's interesting is that hardly anybody knew either driver's plans. Kenseth made a stunning decision to leave Roush Fenway Racing, where he's spent his career. Hamlin signed an extension with Joe Gibbs Racing. (AP Photo/John Raoux,File)

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Matt Kenseth and Denny Hamlin took themselves right out of NASCAR's potential free-agent pool last week, long before anyone wondered about their future.
